U.S. Tariff Policy Adjustment on Imports from China
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has announced adjustments to the tariff policy on goods imported from China (including Hong Kong), which will take effect at 12:01 AM Eastern Time on February 4, 2025.
Key Policy Changes:
Elimination of the De Minimis Exemption:
The previous duty-free threshold for goods valued below $800 will no longer apply. Clearance methods such as T86 will no longer be available.
Additional Tariffs:
A 10% tariff surcharge will be imposed on top of the existing duty rates, with total tariffs on certain goods reaching 10%-60% or higher.
